Love, Lies, and a Larder Heist

Tavern Ballad (with a hint of chaos) Humorous, dramatic, and slightly ridiculous

Intro
Gather ‘round, ye travelers bold,
A tale of madness shall be told.
With ogres, hags, and mice so grand,
A prison break was finely planned!

Verse 1
Locked away, with chains so tight,
Hope was dim and lost to night.
Yet in the dark, a skitter came,
With tiny paws and tails untamed!

The spiders wove, the mice did gnaw,
A daring feat—no flaw, no flaw!
From shackles freed, their gear restored,
And love letters that left them floored!

Chorus
Oh, Grimshank dear, your heart’s in chains,
A hag has whispered sweet refrains!
The wedding’s set, the feast prepared,
But chaos brews—adventurers dared!

Verse 2
Now heroes great, they hatched a scheme,
To steal some cheese—it was the dream!
Through larder halls they slipped unseen,
But wings betrayed—CRASH!—too keen!

Yet goblins slow, and guards too blind,
The spoils of war they left behind!
With meats and herbs and buttery gold,
A midnight feast in cells so cold!

Bridge
Smoke in the air, the guards drew near,
"What’s this, my lads? We smell deceit!"
"The blankets gone, the food misplaced..."
"We’ll blame the rats! Now take your seat!"

Verse 3
By morning light, Kirk’s form did change,
A gnoll once more—how very strange!
The hag appeared with news so dire,
A wedding loomed, a fate entire!

Grimshank sought a worthy bride,
His heart was torn, his dreams denied!
Aelira stood with noble grace,
But hags and fate must take their place!

Chorus
Oh, Grimshank dear, your heart’s in chains,
A hag has whispered sweet refrains!
The wedding’s set, the feast prepared,
But chaos brews—adventurers dared!

Verse 4
The party split, as all must do,
To scribes, to halls, to lovers true!
Titles sought in parchment old,
A Medusos charmed in whispers bold!

A minotaur with silence wise,
A bard who spun deceitful ties!
A vampire’s gaze, a noble’s fight,
A wedding feast… or brawl at night?!

Outro
(Slows to a dramatic finish with deep drum beats)
So hear me now, this tale is spun,
A wedding, war—both yet to come!
Will Grimshank love? Will feasts be slain?
Oh, friend, tonight… CHAOS REIGNS!
