“Queen of the Garden” Verse 1 Mama’s up before the rooster, coffee in her hand, Marchin’ through those flower beds like she owns the land. Got her dahlias all lined up, sunflowers standin’ tall, Day lilies by the mailbox, prettiest ones of all. She’s got onions, beans, and lettuce, cucumbers on a vine, Talks to every plant she grows like they’re family all the time. But every year the battle starts when the vegetables appear, And every critter in the county says, “Looks like supper’s here!” Chorus She’s the queen of the garden, ruler of the rows, Growin’ more tomatoes than the whole dang county knows. Got one hand on a shovel, one eye on the deer, Yellin’, “Get outta my green beans!” so the neighbors all can hear. She’s raisin’ chickens, growin’ flowers, makin’ nature toe the line, But the rabbits and raccoons keep committing little crimes. She’s the queen of the garden, bless her heart and soul, Fightin’ wildlife every day for control! Verse 2 There’s an armadillo diggin’ holes the size of Texas craters, Ants are throwin’ house parties underneath her gladiators. A rabbit stole her lettuce, then came back for seconds too, Now he’s got a bounty on him bigger than the county zoo. She built a fence for deer one year, they laughed and jumped right through, A scarecrow lasted two whole days before they ate around him too. Mama stood there hands on hips and said, “I’ve had enough of this!” The deer just kept on chewin’ like they didn’t get the gist. Chorus She’s the queen of the garden, ruler of the rows, Growin’ more tomatoes than the whole dang county knows. Bridge Then one night by the chicken coop, under a full moon glow, A sneaky raccoon tried to pull his usual egg-thievin’ show. Mama flipped the porch light on and hollered loud and clear, That raccoon ran so fast I swear he shifted into third gear! And if a snake comes slitherin’ where those hens all lay, Mama grabs a garden hoe and sends him on his way. The chickens cluck approval like a backyard cheering crowd, She tips her hat and keeps on workin’, stubborn and proud. Final Chorus She’s the queen of the garden, ruler of the rows, Growin’ beauty from the dirt anywhere she goes. Dahlias in the sunshine, sunflowers in the breeze, Still defendin’ every cucumber from thieves with floppy ears and knees. She’s raisin’ chickens, growin’ memories, livin’ country true, Turnin’ every little setback into something she can do. Yeah, the bugs and beasts keep tryin’, but everybody knows, You don’t mess with Mama’s garden rows! Tag Outro The deer may jump, the rabbits nibble, The ants may march in line… But Mama’s gonna win that war— One green bean at a time.
