[Intro] [Melody] [Verse 1] Before the cross before the crown The earth was wild the sun beat down People celebrated skies so bright In honor of the growing light Then another tale for the earth we tread A story told of life from the dead Now eggs are painted for the fun The hunt begins and laughter's spun [Verse 2] The hare would run through fields of green A symbol of life yet to be seen The trees would whisper ancient tales Of life renewed as winter pales Now bells are ringing in the chapel's glow A savior risen as hearts overflow In the silence where whispers speak There's a meaning for all who seek [Pre-Chorus] Happy Easter to one and all No matter how you partake Even if you don't celebrate at all Happiness to you for goodness sake [Chorus] Before the cross before the creed There was the earth the root the seed A circle spun where shadows played The dance of light the birth of day Oh Easter's not just a single tale It's a kite that soars and meant to sail From blooming flowers to skies of blue A thousand meanings a world anew [Verse 3] For some it's chocolate and candy sweet For others redemption a soul's heartbeat A few raise fire to greet the spring Prosperity for their offering In every corner it finds its place A patchwork quilt of love and grace [Bridge] The wheel it turned the seasons sang Through the forests the joy of life rang Rites of spring the soil would keep Sacred ground where roots run deep Now a soul reborn shedding its sin A child’s joy in a bunny's grin A feast of hope where families meet We gather and pray to feel complete [Chorus] Before the cross before the creed There was the earth the root the seed A circle spun where shadows played The dance of light the birth of day Oh Easter's not just a single tale It's a kite that soars and meant to sail From blooming flowers to skies of blue A thousand meanings a world anew [Fade Out] Happy Easter to one and all No matter how you partake Even if you don't celebrate at all Happiness to you for goodness sake
