Verse 1 Monday comes with a sleepy face Same old clock, same old place Everybody’s counting down the days Like the fun is locked away Tuesday’s got that hallway sound Feet on the floor, heads looking down But we’ve got plans in a notebook line And a song stuck in our minds Pre-Chorus Why save the spark? Why wait to start? We’ve got a little bit of lightning in our hearts Chorus Why wait till Friday? Why wait all week? We can turn a normal day Into the one we wanna keep Why wait till Friday? Let the whole world know We don’t need a weekend To make the speakers blow Oh-oh, we’re already alive Oh-oh, we don’t need the time Why wait till Friday When tonight feels right? Verse 2 Wednesday hits, but we hit back Drumsticks tapping on a backpack Someone’s got a riff, someone’s got a rhyme Someone says, “Let’s go one more time” Thursday’s close, but close ain’t there We’re making noise like we don’t care If the whole week tries to slow us down We’ll be the loudest thing in town Pre-Chorus Why save the spark? Why wait to start? We’ve got a little bit of lightning in our hearts Chorus Why wait till Friday? Why wait all week? We can turn a normal day Into the one we wanna keep Why wait till Friday? Let the whole world know We don’t need a weekend To make the speakers blow Oh-oh, we’re already alive Oh-oh, we don’t need the time Why wait till Friday When tonight feels right? Bridge No countdown, no permission No perfect plan, just ignition Turn it up and let it run We don’t wait for anyone No countdown, no permission This is our tradition Any day can be the night If we decide to make it bright Final Chorus Why wait till Friday? Why wait all week? We can turn a normal day Into the one we wanna keep Why wait till Friday? Let the whole world know We don’t need a weekend To make the speakers blow Oh-oh, we’re already alive Oh-oh, we don’t need the time Why wait till Friday When tonight feels right? Outro Why wait, why wait, why wait till Friday? Why wait, why wait, why wait till Friday? We don’t need a weekend When tonight feels right
