Gospel of Thomas

Verse 1 These are the secret words he spoke, A hidden fire, a buried hope. No manger scene, no empty grave, Just living words with power to wake. “Keep seeking till the truth is found, Though first it shakes your solid ground. Be troubled, marvel, then you’ll see— The kingdom waits inside of thee.” Chorus This is the Gospel of Thomas, A light they could not extinguish. The kingdom isn’t on its way— It’s here among us today. Look within and you may find The spark of God, the awakened mind. What was divided can be one— The hidden kingdom has begun. Verse 2 “The kingdom’s spread across the earth, But blinded eyes don’t know its worth. Lift up the stone—I’m waiting there; Split open wood—I’m everywhere.” No distant throne beyond the blue, No future gate to struggle through. The sacred lives in everyone, The many flowing from the One. Chorus This is the Gospel of Thomas, A light they could not extinguish. The kingdom isn’t on its way— It’s here among us today. Look within and you may find The spark of God, the awakened mind. What was divided can be one— The hidden kingdom has begun. Bridge They left these sayings from the canon, Condemned the paths they couldn’t sanction. Buried beneath Egyptian sand, Silenced by the ruling hand. But words entombed can rise again— A buried truth still speaks to men. What disappeared from history Returned to ask: “What might you be?” Verse 3 “If you bring forth what lives within, What you reveal may rescue you.” The inner world becomes the door; Awaken—and become much more. Make outer like the world inside, Let every separation die. When two are one and eyes can see, The present moment sets us free. Final Chorus This is the Gospel of Thomas, The voice forgotten but not finished. The kingdom isn’t far away— It breathes within us here today. Know yourself and you may find The sacred light behind the mind. What was divided can be one— The hidden kingdom has begun. Outro Don’t wait for heaven to appear. Open your eyes—the kingdom’s here.
