Have You Not Known
Verse 1 The earth groans in travail, beneath the weight of sin, The children of the dust cry out for light within. The heavens bear their witness, the stars their vigil keep, As the wicked revel boldly and the righteous fall asleep. Chorus Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Word of the Lord, the eternal Word: He calls His own to rise and stand, To purge the sin that plagues the land. Verse 2 The house of God lies broken, its walls in disrepair, His name profaned by lips that preach, yet never speak in prayer. They wait for winds to take them, from strife and shadow’s snare, But Christ calls forth His warriors now, to wage the battle here. Chorus Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Word of the Lord, the eternal Word: He calls His own to rise and stand, To purge the sin that plagues the land. Verse 3 Do you recall the olden days, when giants stalked the field? When men of God stood firm and bold, their hearts a flaming shield? Not carried up on beds of ease, but armed for bloodied seas, To crush the serpent’s coiling head and claim the dragon’s lees. Bridge Rise up, O sons, O daughters, awake! The night is far spent, and the dawn soon breaks. Your armor gleams with holy light, Stand firm, and fight the goodly fight! Verse 4 The seal of God remains secure, His truth a steadfast tower, The Lord knows all who call His name and walk in righteous power. Cast down imaginations, tare strongholds stone by stone, Bring every thought to Christ’s command, and bow before His throne. Chorus Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Word of the Lord, the eternal Word: The sons of God will rise and shine, Till all the earth proclaims, “He’s mine!” Outro And as the nations crumble, the heavens rend in flame, The sons of God are manifest, in triumph through His name. The earth will bow, the heavens sing, as all to Christ belong, For the Lamb is Lord, and in His might, we march in victory's song!
