(Verse 1) I walked on the playground with a smile on my face, Ready to play and run a big race. But someone said words that were sharp and were unkind, Trying to mess with the peace in my mind. They laughed at my style and they pointed at my shoes, Trying to fill up my day with the blues. (Chorus) But you can’t dim my light, no matter what you say! God made me special, and I’m built a different way! Go ahead and talk, but I’m standing very tall, A rare individual, I won't feel small! Pop that thumb up, let your bravery glow— My light is gonna shine, watch it go, watch it go! (Verse 2) Bullying happens when people don't see, The beautiful wonder in you and in me. They want us to hide and they want us to fit, But I’ve got a spirit that just won't quit! I’ll speak up with courage, I’ll tell a teacher right away, And keep holding onto my joy every day. (Outro) No mean words can stick to my skin, I’ve got too much love and goodness within! So lift that thumb high, be proud of your name— We are one of a kind, and we don't play that game! Go shine!
