[Verse 1] Static in the midnight air Your shadow dancing everywhere Every spark a warning sign But danger always tastes like wine You lean closer, pull me in Like gravity beneath my skin Heaven glowing in your eyes But every angel learns to fly [Pre-Chorus] You burn bright I know why Every star Has to die [Chorus] Skin to skin in the neon light Playing Icarus tonight Higher than we should go But we never say no Too close to the fire we fly Melt the wings and watch the sky If we fall from paradise At least we touched the light [Instrumental Drop] [Post-Drop Hook] Too close Too close to the fire Too close Too close to the fire [Verse 2] Heartbeat racing with the bass Your hands like lightning on my waist Every warning fades away When the rhythm pulls us into play [Pre-Chorus] You burn bright I know why Every star Has to die [Chorus] Skin to skin in the neon light Playing Icarus tonight Higher than we should go But we never say no Too close to the fire we fly Melt the wings and watch the sky If we fall from paradise At least we touched the light [Final Drop] [Outro] Too close Too close to the fire We fly Higher and higher
