[Verse] A boy walked in on a sunny day Books in his hands but dreams in the way He asked for a card they shook their head “This is not for you ” the clerk coldly said [Chorus] Oh the library's closed for a boy like you But the mind can climb where the body can't move Turn the pages inside Let the truth shine through Oh the library's closed But not for you [Verse 2] He read by the light of a candle's flame Words were his shelter Hope was his name Every no he heard built a bridge of fight He swore to tear down the walls of white [Prechorus] Years turned fast like a rushing stream He carried the pain but held the dream [Chorus] Oh the library's closed for a boy like you But the mind can climb where the body can't move Turn the pages inside Let the truth shine through Oh the library's closed But not for you [Bridge] He stood in a suit on the marble floor The president's hand held the medal he wore "To the boy who turned no into freedom's call You opened the library for us all"
