Momma's Cookin by Starlite Porch

V5.5

Hello my dear listeners. Starlite Porch recently put out a song called, MOMMA'S COOKING, @robyngovreau. Starlite is a wonderfully creative artist and you really should be listening to them. It is a warm and loving song. I enjoyed it, even though I cannot relate to it. There are people who have had happy childhoods. And Bless them for their good Karma. I just don't happen to be one of them. I didn't have grandparents. And I was thinking to myself, "Surely there is at least one time where my mother said that she loved me? Or was proud of me for something that I did? Or was supportive of me in a way that wasn't for her own standing in her friends eyes." Try as I might, I simply cannot think of one time. I did a better job with my own children. As a parent you strive to give them better than what you had. I mostly succeeded. They had mostly happy childhoods, tell me that they have good memories and the curse of abuse stayed with me and ended with my generation. Unfortunately, their mom and dad fought a lot. It makes me sad that they had to hear it. But, the loving kitchen that Starlite described at least existed for them in one of their grandparents homes. Thank you to Starlite Porch for giving me an echo of what a safe place for a child can be. A place of warmth and love. I can at least cherish the thought of how it must have felt. May all Blessings Be. JoStat
