[Verse 1] You in that red faux fur Feet on the sticky floor Laughing at some sad performer Like we’d seen it all before Black stamp on your wrist Smeared into my shirt We were kids in a house of mirrors Pretending we never hurt [Chorus] Back when we ran LA High on the cheap champagne You said “One day this all fades” I said “Not us No way” (oh) Neon on your face like a halo You swore you would never let go Back when we ran LA Back when we ran LA [Verse 2] Ash on the leather couch Your head against my chest DJ played that one slow heartbreak You called it our stupid test I swore I would never leave You swore you would never lie Funny how every forever Gets traded for one goodbye [Chorus] Back when we ran LA High on the cheap champagne You said “One day this all fades” I said “Not us No way” (no way) Neon on your face like a halo You swore you would never let go Back when we ran LA Back when we ran LA [Bridge] Now I drive past that door Different girl Different war But the bouncer still knows my name (oh) Little ghosts in the smoke Every laugh Every joke I still hear you call my name [Chorus] Back when we ran LA High on the cheap champagne You said “One day this all fades” I said “Not us No way” Neon on your face like a halo You swore you would never let go Back when we ran LA Back when we ran LA (yeah) Back when we ran LA
