[Verse 1] You enter to shouts of praise But eyes still search for crowns For banners For battle For thunder But You ride with no weapon drawn You could pull kingdoms down With just a word Just a breath Instead You offer mercy Instead You offer rest [Pre-Chorus 1] So I lay down Every plan I have tried to hold I lay down Every crown, every right to control [Chorus 1] You are the King we need Not the King we were asking for You are the peace we crave Silencing every war Blessed is the King who comes In the name of the Lord You are the King we need You are the King we need [Verse 2] I come with empty hands I come with an open heart Ready to walk this road No matter how heavy or dark Teach me a different way To walk each step with You To welcome every moment On Your terms In Your truth [Pre-Chorus 2] So I lay down All the pride I have carried around I lay down At Your feet, I am bowing down [Chorus 2] You are the King we need Not the King we were asking for You are the peace we crave The grace we could not afford Blessed is the King who comes In the name of the Lord You are the King we need You are the King we need [Bridge] From the quiet surrender To the highest praise Every breath Every heartbeat Is an open gate From the quiet surrender To the highest praise You are welcome You are wanted Have Your way Have Your way (hey!) [Chorus 3] You are the King we need Not the King we were asking for You are the peace we crave The grace we could not afford Blessed is the King who comes In the name of the Lord You are the King we need! You are the King we need!
