TRANSLUCENT (feat. The Cherry Thieves) On their latest album 'FireStarters' (check out the playlists) Lyrics by MIIKA (c) June 2026 Voice: Amanda ------- I learned the shape of every alibi Folded them small and kept them out of sight Polished the edges till they looked like truth Held them against me like a second skin But every layer gathers fingerprints Every disguise bends under its own weight The harder I pulled the curtain into place The more it tangled in the things I'd made And I can feel the outline breaking through Nothing survives the pressure of the view Translucent Nothing left to hide Translucent Let the whole thing shine I used to measure every word for risk Counting reactions before they arrived Keeping the ledger balanced in my head Trading conviction for a quieter life But there is freedom in the uncut grain A crack can show you where the structure lives The moment I stopped painting over flaws The room got larger than it ever is And I can feel the outline breaking through Nothing survives the pressure of the view Translucent Nothing left to hide Translucent Let the whole thing shine [Instrumental Break] If you can see the wires You can trust the machine If you can read the numbers You know what they mean No secret compartments No double design Just every intention Held up to the light And if it trembles Let it tremble And if it changes Let it change I'd rather be questioned Than buried beneath a perfect frame Translucent Nothing left to hide Translucent Let the whole thing shine Translucent Open side to side Translucent Come and look inside No smoke around the answer No shadow in the seam Just what I am becoming And everything between Translucent Translucent Translucent
