I watched… You decide… You preferred an answer To another question. You trusted the outline Before the shape. You hurried The distance Between hearing And deciding. Maybe certainty Feels almost weightless When nothing Pushes back. Maybe every ending Starts much earlier Than anyone Can see. You outran the truth Before it found you You outran the truth Before I could move You held one version Until it became proof You outran the truth Truth… You outran the truth… Truth… You listened Until everything Agreed. Not with me- With itself. One explanation Made the others Disappear. Leave one answer Still unfolding. Leave one thought Without a name. Not everything Needs completing. Not everything Needs explaining. You outran the truth Before it found you You outran the truth Before I could move You held one version Until it became proof You outran the truth Tell me… … Did certainty Keep you warm? … Or just… Keep you Company? You outran the truth Before it reached us You outran the truth Before it could speak You held one version Until there was no room You outran the truth You outran the truth Maybe… The truth Was never late. You just… Ran first.
