Desolation

V6

We left the guardian breathing in the dark And followed the sound that keeps pulling us farther I can feel the atmosphere growing more hostile That heavy scent of old pain eating through everything That feeling of sorrow held underwater One last tree standing at the edge Behind it, no forest and no faith left Only something enormous rising through the haze The scale of this abyss makes my whole body shake And somewhere inside it... I can see the home of desolation Nothing here remembers how to hold the light Every road we've followed disappears from sight I know we have to face whatever waits inside But I don't know how we'll make it through tonight Massive walls with rows of shattered windows This place forgot what being human means Even the fog feels cruelly ironic Rows of buildings rotting in the distance At the end of this abandoned town something is still turned on I can't remember the last time Ehva joked It's impossible not to feel the cold Something here is still alive... Nothing here remembers how to hold the light Every road we've followed disappears from sight I know we have to learn what's waiting here inside But I don't know how we'll make it through tonight And whatever lives inside that place... already knows we're here. It already knows... we're here.
