[Verse 1] I walked into the barroom On a crowded Friday night Saw the woman of my dreams Oh what a sight I slipped my arms around her And asked her for a dance She pushed me over a barstool Said you ain't got a chance [Chorus] Get up off the floor Gimme an apology She held her beer above my head and said Have a drink on me [Chorus] Have a drink on me Was the last thing I heard I landed on my back On the roadside curb Have a drink on me Was the last thing she said I think I got the picture and I'll have a drink on me [Verse 2] I cruised on to the house And got a bottle of JD Thought I'd drown my troubles Pain and misery I slipped my hand around her neck And gave myself a drink Tripped over the TV Broke the bottle in the sink [Chorus] Tried to get up off the floor Only made it to my knees There's a ringing in my head saying Have a drink on me [Chorus] Have a drink on me Was the last thing I heard I landed on my back On the roadside curb Have a drink on me Was the last thing she said I think I got the picture and I'll have a drink on me [Solo] [Chorus] I tried to get up off the floor Only made it to my knees There's a ringing in my head saying Have a drink on me [Chorus] Have a drink on me Was the last thing I heard I landed on my back On the roadside curb Have a drink on me Was the last thing she said I think I got the picture and I'll have a drink on me I think I got the picture and I'll have a drink on me
