ANNA'S SONG (Verse 1) In New Germantown she was born Seventeen-eighty-seven, summer morn Anna Row among the rolling hills Where the Lutheran church bell fills The air with songs of faith and hope Teaching children how to cope Third daughter in a family of eight Love would be her guiding fate (Verse 2) At seventeen she found her love John Auble, blessed from above July wedding, church bells ring Zion's walls heard them sing Sussex County became their home Where their children free could roam From Sophia first to Robert last Building futures from the past (Chorus) Anna, Anna, strong and true Mother's heart beating through and through Nine children blessed, a legacy made In New Jersey's hills where memories never fade Anna, Anna, your story lives on In every heart where love is drawn (Verse 3) But January brought the pain When John would not come home again Widow's burden, children to raise Thirty years of testing days Yet she stood with grace and might Through the darkness, holding tight To the faith that saw her through Love that made her spirit new (Chorus) Anna, Anna, strong and true Mother's heart beating through and through Nine children blessed, a legacy made In New Jersey's hills where memories never fade Anna, Anna, your story lives on In every heart where love is drawn (Bridge) From colonial times to a nation grown She watched America find its own Through war and peace, through joy and strife She lived a pioneer woman's life At Harmony Hill her body rests But her spirit still blessed and blesses Every child and grandchild born Carries on from that first morn (Verse 4) In Stillwater's quiet town When her sun was going down Sophia's home became her place Surrounded still by love and grace Seventy-two years upon this earth From her first breath to her last worth A mother's love that never dies Lives forever in our eyes (Final Chorus) Anna, Anna, strong and true Mother's heart beating through and through Nine children blessed, a legacy made In New Jersey's hills where memories never fade Anna, Anna, your story lives on In every heart where love is drawn (Outro) So we sing of Anna Row Let her memory ever grow In the hearts of family dear Her love echoes year by year Anna Auble, rest in peace Your love will never cease
