I see the sand, I see the tracks I see the walls, I see them crack I see the outcome of every start Every choice, every voice Every thought a poisoned dart I know too much, I feel too far I hear the gears inside my head If I stopped to name it all I’d never raise my head Never get out of bed Dim the lights Just enough to see I don’t need the whole truth I need what carries me tsunami coming at me always drown me in the flood but i'm sick of treading water and there's survival in my blood tsunami coming at me not gonna stick around i'm floating up above it going to higher ground They say “face it, stand against it all” “Make your bravery look true” But is staring straight at the void A healthy thing to do? I’ve learned the middle way Not blind, not ripped apart I pick the story that still lives And leave the rest in the dark I don’t deny the waters I just don’t drown inside I tell myself one good lie And keep climbing till I’m dry tsunami coming at me always drown me in the flood but i'm sick of treading water and there's survival in my blood tsunami coming at me not gonna stick around i'm floating up above it going to higher ground It’s my madness It’s my faith A life raft named “cheating fate” I’m only human When the weight is too much weight There’s no certainty I don’t control the whole Just a thin, bright thread of meaning Tight inside my hold A little denial Some illusion A version of the truth That lets me live That lets me move A functional delusion Just enough to turn and run Just enough to keep me moving From the water to the sun tsunami coming at me always drown me in the flood but i'm sick of treading water and there's survival in my blood tsunami coming at me not gonna stick around i'm floating up above it going to higher ground tsunami coming at me i can feel it in my bones but i wasn’t built for drowning i was built to stay afloat tsunami coming at me i’m climbing onto solid ground i’m not lost inside the water i learned how to rise above it now Written by Siren Queen Sara
