As I sit here in the silence Snowflakes falling all around Visions out my window Interrupted by the sound Of children laughing playing And shouting in the air Merry Christmas merry Christmas Merry Christmas everywhere Hark the herald angels sing Glory to the new born king Peace on Earth Good will to man Merry Christmas to everyone A small child drags a sled behind A group of kids running up a hill Older teen turns to help a boy Hand clasped loss of fear As they reach the crest they hear A sound joyful and clear Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas Merry Christmas everywhere Hark the herald angels sing Glory to the new born king Peace on Earth Good will to man Merry Christmas to everyone The evening stillness now is broken Sound getting louder as they pass A group of carolers stroll by Treading lightly over the grass Voices singing songs I’ve grown to love At this special time of year Singing Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas Merry Christmas everywhere Hark the herald angels sing Glory to the new born king Peace on Earth Good will to man Merry Christmas to everyone
