[Three Glass Notes] [Alien Horn Answers] [Eterna] Signal acquired. [Cosmic] That's him? [Eterna] Unless somebody else on Dillimuns owes you twenty dollars. [Cosmic] That's him. [Beat Drops] [Verse 1] Red dust Golden rain Whole damn skyline bends like flame Three lights low No street names Everybody staring like we came too late Field guide says, observe and learn Good advice. Friend says, "Come get me." Better. [Eterna] Atmosphere stable. Local traffic strange. Probability of uncomplicated retrieval— [Cosmic] Don't ruin it. [Eterna] —extremely low. [Pre-Chorus] Beacon blinking two miles south Crew strapped in We're heading out New world New rules Same old plan You call your people— You go get them. [Chorus] WE CAME DOWN TO GET OUR FRIEND Through the golden rain and back again NEW WORLD! [Crew] LOOK AROUND! STRANGE SKY! [Crew] TOUCH THE GROUND! Don't need to own it Don't need to understand Somebody called us— so here I am [Instrumental Break] [Glass harmonica circles] [Alien horn answers] [Deep bass rolls beneath metallic hand percussion] [Verse 2] Market hum Blue-white smoke Six-note language I don't know Golden rivers under stone Something with three eyes just stole my phone [Eterna] Correction. It appears to be examining it. [Cosmic] Tell him there's nothing good on there before noon. [Eterna] That translated poorly. [Cosmic] How poorly? [Eterna] We're leaving. [Beat Kicks] Past the towers Under violet wire Found his beacon beside a fire There he sits Boots covered in dust Looks up laughing— [Friend] Took you long enough. [Cosmic] You look terrible. [Friend] You crossed space to tell me that? [Cosmic] Basically. [Chorus] WE CAME DOWN TO GET OUR FRIEND Through the golden rain and back again NEW WORLD! [Crew] LOOK AROUND! STRANGE SKY! [Crew] TOUCH THE GROUND! Didn't come to conquer Didn't come to pretend Somebody called us— we came for our friend [Bridge — Beat Falls Away] [Only glass harmonica and distant planetary ambience] [Friend] You really came. [Cosmic] You called. [Friend] I wasn't sure the signal got through. [Eterna] It barely did. [Friend] Then why risk the landing? [Cosmic] Because barely isn't nothing. [Silence] [Eterna] ... Captain. [Cosmic] Yeah? [Eterna] Local conditions are changing. [Cosmic] How long? [Eterna] Enough time if everyone stops talking. [Friend] I like her. [Cosmic] Everybody does eventually. [Eterna] Move. [BUILD] [Alien Horn] [Glass Notes] [Drums Explode] [Final Chorus] WE CAME DOWN TO GET OUR FRIEND! Now the golden rain is closing in! NEW WORLD! [Crew] WE SAW IT! STRANGE SKY! [Crew] WE CROSSED IT! Didn't plant a flag Didn't claim the land Left with one more heartbeat than when we began WE CAME DOWN! [Crew] WE CAME BACK! FRIEND ABOARD! [Eterna] COURSE IS SET. [Cosmic] First Officer? [Eterna] Captain? [Cosmic] Next time he gets himself home. [Friend] No promises. [Eterna] I am updating his risk profile. [HUGE FINAL DROP] [Outro] [Computer] PASSENGER COUNT: PLUS ONE. [Silence] [Eterna] Correct. [Cosmic] Best number we've heard all day. [Three Glass Notes] [Alien Horn Answers]
