Holy Night Train

[Intro – Spoken] You hear that whistle in the dark? Mm-hmm… that ain’t no ordinary midnight run. That’s the train that carries blessings, children. The Holy Night Train… comin’ through. [Verse 1] There’s a quiet on the hillside, Snow is fallin’ soft and slow. A lantern glows at the station, People lined up in the cold. But they ain’t waitin’ for no ticket, Ain’t nobody buyin’ a ride— ’Cause the Holy Night Train Only runs from heart to heart inside. [Chorus – Call & Response] Lead: All aboard the Holy Night Train! Choir: Ride on, ride on! Lead: Rollin’ through the darkness, bringin’ hope again! Choir: Shine on, shine on! Lead: From Bethlehem’s star to the broken and the plain— All: Let your soul climb on that Holy Night Train! [Verse 2] The conductor’s wearin’ kindness, Got forgiveness in his hands. He says, “Child, you don’t need money, Just a little faith to stand.” The engine runs on mercy, The coal is joy and grace— And everybody’s welcome, ’Cause love don’t check your place. [Chorus – Full Band] Lead: All aboard the Holy Night Train! Choir: Ride on, ride on! Lead: Rollin’ past the sorrow, past the hurt and shame! Choir: Shine on, shine on! Lead: From the lonesome towns to the weary and the chained— All: Let your soul climb on that Holy Night Train! [Bridge – Spoken Over Organ] Now listen here… Some say Christmas comes in boxes. Some say it’s hangin’ up in lights. But I say Christmas comes Every time that train passes by your life. If you hear that whistle callin’, Don’t you turn away in fear— Just step toward the platform, child… ’Cause love is always near. [Verse 3] There’s a mother with her children, Tryin’ hard to make it through. There’s an old man on the corner Who’s forgotten what joy can do. But that train keeps on approachin’, With a promise you can feel— That every broken heart Got a chance to heal. [Chorus – Big Gospel Lift] Lead: All aboard the Holy Night Train! Choir: Ride on, ride on! Lead: Rollin’ through the shadows with a holy flame! Choir: Shine on, shine on! Lead: If your spirit’s tired, if your hope’s been drained— All: Let your soul climb on that Holy Night Train! [Outro – Ad-lib & Fade] Lead ad-libs: Keep on ridin’… keep on ridin’… Let the Good Lord steer… Holy Night Train’s gonna bring you near… Ride on… ride on… Choir (soft): Holy Night Train… Holy Night Train… Train whistle fades into night.
