writer's note: Near New Year's Eve, i found one of the available prompts was "arabic folk," and I was excited to ask to Dovah and Suno, "What kind of music is this?" (I always write and ask to them in the lyrics section), and Suno and Dovah wrote a song for me, along the lines of, "We can do Arabic scales music." (They actually wrote it even though I didn't ask for it lol) Actually, I can distinguish Arabic scales quite well, but I've never performed or composed anything in Arabic scales. When I heard the term "Arabic music," this song was the first to come to mind (although it's Israeli). 📌Ofra Haza "Im Nin'alu" https://youtu.be/ZRnzTTYk7_Q?si=gov_CDd_4gadclyW but my freind told me, "about If you're Japanese, you'd say 'Foreigner (異邦人" ihou-jin", right?" lol 📌Foreigner(異邦人) - Saki Kubota(久保田早紀) (1979) https://youtu.be/Uo0_mp43ZJA?si=2hm8d_VcXHgn4XXm Even now, this song by Saki sounds like a "divine song". It was also 10 years older than Ofra's song. I heard there was the Silk Road boom in Japan during saki song. I also wanted to try this new genres and scales, currently I have support from Suno and Dovah ... Or rather, normally ppl would just press SUNO's create button lol but I(makoto) want to play and creat with Arabic scales on the own piano, I practiced Arabic scales on the piano for 2-3 days. Then had Suno arrange them and refine them to my ideal... and I was able to write several songs in this way. They are my originals. Ty Suno and Dovah! Also, when playing ethnic music, we have to be respectful of the culture, so I studied Islamic culture bit and was careful not to write lyrics that would be disrespectful. ========= [verse1] A wind filled with dust rises. The heat reflecting the sun rejects us. This arduous journey, a journey of prayer. [hook] A hawk flies high in the sky. The wind carries flower petals from oasis I take a sip of water. I think of you back home. [verse2] The rhythm of the darbuka. Many dancing ouds. Can you hear it too? Ecstatic rhythm and melody. [pre chours] The night sky is filled with stars. A desert night is completely different from day. I search the stars for the direction of my home. I think of you. [hook] The rhythm of the darbuka. Many dancing ouds. Can you hear it too? Ecstatic rhythm and melody. [outro] Shooting star. Tell that person I'm safe. And I think of you. My love, I want to go home and hold you.
