Keep me safe, O God, my light, In You I take my deepest flight. I say, “You are my Lord, my all— No good have I apart, no call.” Saints in the land, the noble, true, Are all my joy, my chosen view. But those who chase another god Will drink their pain, their names defraud. I will not speak their names in prayer, Nor pour their offerings anywhere. You, O Lord, my cup, my lot— My portion lines fall fair and hot. The land You’ve given, rich and wide, Is beauty spread on every side. I bless You, Lord, who counsels me, Even in night, You speak to me. I set You always at my right— With You, I will not fall from sight. My heart is glad, my tongue can sing, My body rests beneath Your wing. For You won’t leave me in the grave, Nor let Your Holy One decay. You show the path that leads to life, Where joy is full and pleasures rife— At Your right hand, forever stay, Eternal bliss, unending day.
