Brother's Keeper
[Verse 1 – The Weight of the Ground] Smoke hang low where Abel fell, Dust remember — it breathe so well. Jack stand small, but light surround, The same soft glow dat haunt this ground. He feel a warmth — not sun, not flame, A whisper call him Abel’s name. Through love, through loss, through heart undone, He face a first-born, a father’s son. [Verse 2 – The Silent Stand] Cain step near — his eyes all fire, Heart still pounding with old desire. No word between, no curse, no plea, Just breath and fate in symmetry. Jack plant hoof, no fear, no run, The girl behind — her life begun. He bow his head — not to yield, But to guard the soul he’s sworn to shield. [Confrontation – The Clash] [drums strike] Steel flash quick, dust leap high, Ash and echo fill the sky. Jack charge once — no second chance, A spark ignite in Cain’s wide stance. Abel’s hum move through the air, A sound of mercy, pain, and prayer. The blow come down — time hold its breath, Love meet fury, life meet death. [music drop] [Instrumental – Stillness of the Field] The field glow red beneath the morn, Two shadows fade — one reborn. [Verse 3 – Aftermath / Realization] Cain stare long — his chest still flame, But none remain to take the blame. He turn — the camp, the path, the dust… All gone. Just silence, just trust. He look once more — the ground still warm, The echo of hooves his only form. He kneel — not prayer, not plea, Just lost inside what used to be. [Cain – Spoken Line] “Am I… my brother’s keeper?” [Final Verse – The Vow of Exile] He wipe the blood — it stain remain, No home to go, no one to name. He whisper low to earth below, “Mi walk alone — dat’s all mi know.” The fire dim, di shadow grow, The seed of man through sorrow sow. He take his staff, he face the plain, And vow neva walk dis ground again. [Refrain – Ensemble Echo / Cain Alone] From dust to dust, from flame to flame, Each keeper bear di weight of name. Mi brother’s keeper? Maybe so. Mi carry both — where mi must go. No peace, no rest, just road and pain, The mark remain — di mark remain.
