[Verse 1] Snow gathers softly on the garden gate Your red scarf hangs beside my coat The kettle hums, we stay up late Counting every flake that floats [Pre-Chorus] You draw a circle on the glass I write our names beneath For one small night, let winter pass And leave this room in peace [Chorus] Counting snowflakes, one by one Till the quiet morning comes Every little white descent Feels like time the heavens spent On you and me, on this old town While the whole world settles down Counting snowflakes, side by side With Christmas waiting outside [Verse 2] A paper star leans by the tree The lights blink gold and green You pour the last warm cup for me The sweetest one I’ve seen [Pre-Chorus] The clock forgets to make a sound The roof is dressed in white And every worry left in town Gets smaller through the night [Chorus] Counting snowflakes, one by one Till the quiet morning comes Every little white descent Feels like time the heavens spent On you and me, on this old town While the whole world settles down Counting snowflakes, side by side With Christmas waiting outside [Bridge] If tomorrow melts the view I’ll still remember this Your hand in mine, the window blue The hush before our Christmas kiss [Final Chorus] Counting snowflakes, one by one Till the winter morning comes Every little white descent Feels like all the love we meant On you and me, on this old town While the whole world settles down Counting snowflakes, side by side With Christmas waiting outside [Outro] Counting snowflakes, you and I As the first bells cross the sky
