[Intro – impossibly deep, gravelly spoken voice; waves and low sub-bass] Thrown from the hand of the Allfather... down... down... down... You thought the sea would bury me. The sea made me bigger. [Verse 1 – rapid chopper flow] I am Jörmungandr, born in the deep, Coiled where the drowned and the forgotten sleep. Cast from the heavens to blackened tide, I hit the abyss and I did not die. Óðinn threw me from halls above, Call it wisdom, call it love. Call it whatever lets gods pretend They didn't create what waits at the end. I grew in silence, fathom by fathom, Cold in the trench where no hands could grab him. Scale after scale and mile after mile, Till oceans themselves were trapped in my spiral. Around Miðgarðr, tail to teeth, Mountains above me, darkness beneath. You call me monster because I'm immense? I call myself the world's defense. [Pre-Chorus – deep crew chant] COIL! TIGHTEN! HOLD THE LINE! [Chorus – massive low male chant] I AM JÖRMUNGANDR! I circle the world where the black tides roar! I AM JÖRMUNGANDR! From abyssal dark to the Miðgarðr shore! Thrown to the deep, but the deep became mine! I carry the sea and I hold the line! I AM JÖRMUNGANDR! Wake the serpent and drown in the tide! [Verse 2 – faster, rolling cadence] Þórr came fishing with hatred for bait, Hook through the water, dragging at fate. Ox-head dangling, blood in the foam, You came hunting me inside my home. I took the bait and the heavens shook, Sea went mad when I bit that hook. You pulled me upward, thunder in hand, I rose like night swallowing land. Eye met eye through lightning rain, You raised Mjöllnir to split my brain. But the line went loose and the sea reclaimed The serpent thunder had almost slain. Remember that moment, red-bearded god, When waves became mountains beneath your rod. You wanted the beast beneath the blue? The beast looked back and remembered you. [Beat switch – thunder crack, bass plunge] [Verse 3 – ultra-fast chopper] You guard mankind, I guard the wild, Both of us ancient, neither one mild. You hold the hammer, I hold the sea, Two kinds of order that disagree. You strike the chaos threatening men, I keep their hunger from swallowing everything. Forest and current, storm and reef, Things without voices still need teeth. Call me destruction, call me the end, Nature was never your obedient friend. The tide does not kneel, the storm does not care, The wolf needs forest, the whale needs air. Miðgarðr isn't a throne for man, It's borrowed ground in a greater plan. You defend people with thunder and might, I defend balance beneath the night. [Chorus – heavier] I AM JÖRMUNGANDR! [Verse 4 – deep opening, accelerating violently] Then Ragnarök. The waters rise. The fetters fail. The serpent moves and poisons the gale. I leave the ocean. I cross the land. Thunder comes with hammer in hand. No fishing line. No giant between. No second chance. No retreat unseen. Þórr! Nine steps. Remember the count. You crush my skull, I poison your lungs. We meet our ending with ancient tongues. Hammer and serpent, storm and sea, Neither one bows, neither one flees. You kill me first, but victory dies, Nine steps later beneath burning skies. [Bridge – sparse bass, deep spoken voice] I do not hate you, Thunderer. You protect your world. I protect mine. But when two guardians cannot yield... the earth decides with blood and brine. [Final Verse – maximum-speed chopper] I am the current beneath your keel, Pressure and salt and ancient steel. I am the boundary drawn in foam, The ocean saying, "This is my home." I am the coil that circles the land, Older than kingdoms built in the sand. I am not evil, I am not tame, No human morality governs my name. Thrown away but never erased, Made into power by depth and waste. Óðinn feared what the Norns had shown, So he gave the sea a god of its own. Now every wave that strikes your shore, Every black trench beneath the roar, Every storm where the brave disappear Carries the whisper you learned to fear— [Final Chorus – enormous crew, war horns and crashing waves] I AM JÖRMUNGANDR! I circle the world where the black tides roar! I AM JÖRMUNGANDR! From abyssal dark to the Miðgarðr shore! Thrown to the deep, but the deep became mine! I carry the sea and I hold the line! I AM JÖRMUNGANDR! THE WORLD-SERPENT RISES— [beat cuts] [Outro – impossibly deep whisper] Nine steps, Þórr. Not three. Nine.
