Guiwenneth and George Huxley This song and image are inspired by Mythago Wood and by an idea that emerged while exploring the story's deeper themes: perhaps every person who enters Ryhope Wood creates a different Guiwenneth. In the novel, mythagos are not fixed beings. They are shaped by memory, desire, dreams, and the unconscious mind. The same legend may appear differently to different people. Following that idea, we imagined that the woman in this image is not the Guiwenneth known to Steven Huxley, but the one seen through the eyes of his father, George. She is not a romantic figure. She is older, stranger, and more deeply connected to the forest itself. A guardian of forgotten paths, a daughter of ancient myths, standing among standing stones and sacred fires. She belongs to the world that fascinated George long before it consumed his life. The song tells of Aelira Thoren, a mysterious woman of fire and memory who rides beside a burning horse beneath the moon. Whether she is a mythago, a Celtic goddess, or simply another face of Guiwenneth is left unanswered. In Ryhope Wood, such distinctions rarely matter. The forest reshapes every story that enters it. Together, the song and image explore a possibility hidden between the pages of the novel: that George and Steven did not fall in love with the same woman. They encountered different reflections of the same ancient myth, each shaped by their own hopes, fears, and dreams. And somewhere deep within the forest, perhaps both versions still exist. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Verse 1 (whisper) I walk through the fire, I don’t feel the flame Ash on my skin… but I whisper your name The horses are breathing, they wait in the dark Smoke in their eyes… and a world made of sparks Pre-Chorus Hear them call… through the night Hooves like drums… in the light Chorus (celtic-style chant) Aelira… thóren nai (echo layered) Enaí shava… kelora dai Fire runs… in my veins I ride the dark… I break the chains Verse 2 (soft, eerie) He’s made out of embers, a crown made of flame No face in the fire… no soul left to name I follow the rhythm, I don’t understand But something inside me is taking his hand Pre-Chorus Feel the ground… start to shake Every step… something wakes Chorus (stronger, layered) Aelira… thóren nai (wide vocal layers) Enaí shava… kelora dai Fire runs… in my veins I ride the dark… I break the chains Bridge (ritual / overtone) Ahhh… (overtone vocal, shifting) Fire below… fire inside No more fear… I become the night Final Chorus Aelira… thóren nai (full layered, immersive) Enaí shava… kelora dai Wild horses… made of flame Call my soul… speak my name Outro (fade, whisper) I ride… I burn… I rise…
