The narrator moves through her rooms, sets two cups out, looks for an errand she has already forgotten. She notices that Margaret has her ribbon, her laugh, her place at the mirror. She finds reasons for all of it. She doesn't know she is dead. She is still waiting for Margaret to leave so the morning can begin.
