[Verse 1] Oh s*** It’s been too long Text came through Said “you comin’ or what?” Same old gravel lot out back Rust on the pit and a cooler of stuff Paper plates on the tailgate Kids runnin’ wild in the neighbor’s yard Auntie laughin’ at uncle’s bad jokes Somehow that always hits hard [Chorus] You remember them barbecues at Bones? Friends Family Smoke in the air Shots Steaks Stuffed jalapeños Burnin’ our lips Didn’t care Hell yeah We were loud We were grown But we felt like kids back then You remember them barbecues at Bones? Wish we could do it again [Verse 2] Grease poppin’ on that old black grate Somebody’s playlist stuck on repeat Flip that rib Take a swig Tell a story About every scar Every busted-up knee Fold-out chairs on the cracked-up concrete Cousin startin’ trouble by quarter to nine Neighbor yellin’ “turn it down” We just laughed and poured another line [Chorus] You remember them barbecues at Bones? Friends Family Smoke in the air Shots Steaks Stuffed jalapeños Burnin’ our lips Didn’t care Hell yeah We were loud We were grown But we felt like kids back then You remember them barbecues at Bones? Wish we could do it again [Bridge] Now we’re spread out Grown up Different towns Same old love Any time that grill flame flares I swear I’m right back there (oh yeah) [Chorus] You remember them barbecues at Bones? Friends Family Smoke in the air Shots Steaks Stuffed jalapeños Burnin’ our lips Didn’t care Hell yeah We were loud We were grown But we felt like kids back then You remember them barbecues at Bones? Hell yeah Let’s do it again
