They didn’t just change the story… They changed Love. They took healing And taught it as harm. They said God needs blood to forgive, Needs somebody broken so others can live. They dressed revenge in holy clothes, Called it justice, nobody knows. They said Somebody gotta pay that price, So they made Love violent, cold as ice. But Life don’t heal with punishment That was man’s idea, heaven-sent? You don’t cure light with darkness. You don’t teach peace with pain. They preached a punishment gospel Made mercy carry a knife. They preached a punishment gospel Turned sacrifice into Life. But Love don’t need nobody bleeding, Love don’t need nobody dying. That wasn’t God you were believing That was fear in a choir. They said God turned His face away, When Love walked through the grave that day. They said Heaven demanded pain, So they sanctified suffering in His name. But tell me who taught the Sun to burn, Who told the Ocean to return? Creation don’t run on revenge Only wounded minds pretend. If God needs violence to forgive Then violence is holy. If God needs blood to love Then Love is broken. But Love isn’t broken. They taught you Heaven had conditions, Built on ancient human traditions. They taught you fear keeps people clean, Called it grace behind the scenes. But the Christ didn’t come to satisfy wrath, He came to show you who you already are. They missed the point and wrote a creed, Turned revelation into need. They preached a punishment gospel Made mercy carry a knife. They preached a punishment gospel Turned sacrifice into Life. But Love don’t need nobody bleeding, Love don’t need nobody dying. That wasn’t God you were believing That was fear in a choir. Love heals. Fear punishes. Now you know.
