She’s a beauty But bullied for her interests She has brown hair and all the men adore her Her father may be a lunatic but she loves him never the less A man who Is selfish Tries to take her away A bad man with a terrible reputation She runs away, runs away In hope to find help But it doesn’t go her way She gets locked up in her thoughts until the next day She’s trapped and polished like a precious bowl She sits in her room scowling at the wall Her face is pretty, her voice is too Her name is Belle, does that give you a clue? To how she’s treated, treated like a baby Treated like a baby in a cage Despite her age She is wonderfully made and kind What a girl she is What a girl she is She doesn’t get what she wants She’s happy with what she has What a girl she is What a girl she is
