Lyrics © Ed Rendum (@edrendum) All Rights Reserved ================ "Come on baby, lets drive..." It's dark here on the highway through the night, The world's confined to our car's two headlights, You said you wanted to drive far... So we got into our car... And drove... We've been crossing the desert on a dark Nevada night, It's dark and cloudy, no stars at all and no moonlight, [Spoken]"I asked if you've ever seen the sun rise from the ocean... You said you didn't... So we just headed east..." And drove... After driving for hours on the highway dark, We found a place where we could park, Yeah we were cold but we felt rich, "Your turn to drive baby, lets switch" We decided to stop until the sun went down, When at dawn we drove into some dusty town, Found a hotel, spent the whole day in bed, Ate and left after the sun had set, We still have to drive far... So we filled up the car... And drove... After driving for hours on the highway dark, We found a place where we could park, Yeah we were cold but we felt rich, "Your turn to drive baby, lets switch" Lets keep on driving baby, until we reach the coast, With you here by my side, I have what I need most, You said you wanted to drive far... So now we're driving very far... To see the rise of our own star... Lets drive... We'll drive by night and sleep by day, So many towns along the way, We're drivin' on, we're headin' east, To see the sun to be released... We'll sit on the beach ("Yeah, we'll sit on the beach...") And watch the sun rise from the ocean ("From the ocean... We'll watch it rise...") We're almost there ("Here comes Virginia...") Lets drive...
