Futurists (Future Perfect Mix)

[Verse 1] Once, we were optimists We were headed towards Prosperity and ease Suprise, now we've arrived all that's in store Is corruption, decay, disease [bridge] Wolves line up against the prey We put our backs up to the wall Why'd it have to be this way? Saw it come, still rushed to the fall! What was the point? What did we become? What will it take To undo what we've done? [chorus] We're past the point of no return The future is now and now is history Science fiction was just wishful thinking So people, WHAT COMES NEXT? [guitar and synth solo] [Verse 2] Walk, any day, any city not to be a pessimist What I'm saying is easy to see Hurt gets deep within me So many hopeless No pity soon, no expected relief [bridge] Everyone choosing a side But there’s only one human race Why create artificial divides? Unless you profit from suf’ring and waste Who is to blame? Does it matter anymore? What will it take to reverse our lemming course? [chorus] We're past the point of no return The future is now and now is history Science fiction was just wishful thinking So people, WHAT COMES NEXT? [guitar solo] [guitar solo] [guitar solo] [drum solo] Now, we have to be wise Become futurists This is the time to get brave! If we're to survive build something new again Be clever and to avoid the grave! [bridge] Man says crime and climate ain't so bleak Don't worry, it's under control With armed guards behind and sweat on their cheeks It's a damn lie and everyone knows No one's coming We have to save ourselves Build up one another Let the liars rot in Hell! [chorus] We're past the point of no return The future is now and now is history Science fiction was just wishful thinking So people, WHAT COMES NEXT? [guitar solo] [guitar solo] [outro, instrumental]
