Harmonic Wound

When I saw the great bond in the band Then I knew what I had been longing I saw harmony in small things And... suddenly I missed belonging They didn’t have to play the music To have it in their voices and hands I clearly saw myself—alone and losing My precious life—it flowing like sand Through the clock and fading away I got heartbroken by a rock band I saw what life was trying to say It did hurt to accept—it did land Right into my intellectual pride And though I avoided them partly I had to admit… they were right It was a life-changing weekend party They had dangerous cures and ways Not only the drinking and smoking But inner music is what still stays You know what I am talking They woke my soul but couldn’t reach me That’s how real magic sometimes goes And even now when I sense that harmony Something in me quietly glows
