Soft alarm at half past eight, Coffee’s warm, I’m feeling great. Talked of plans, the things to do, All I want is time with you. Simple day, and I like the way You smile at me in the light of day. Nowhere to run, nothing to prove, Just the easy rhythm of me and you. Walking slow down sunny street, Sandwich shared, something sweet. Tried a hat, you laughed out loud, Took a shot, I’m feeling proud. Simple day, and I like the way You smile at me in the light of day. Nowhere to run, nothing to prove, Just the easy rhythm of me and you. Pasta made, the TV’s on, Talk of dreams till day is gone. Dishes wait, we just don’t care, Happy here in this old chair. Simple day, and I like the way You smile at me in the light of day. Nowhere to run, nothing to prove, Just the easy rhythm of me and you. Streetlights glow, the night feels near, Your soft voice is all I hear. Close my eyes, let darkness through, End the day still close to you.
