Failed Loop (But Not Really)

**“Failed Loop (But Not Really)”** *(Intro – Spoken)* This was supposed to be the tactical college commute loop. Southam. Leamington. Coventry. Nuneaton. Rugby College. A beautiful chain of buses. Then the 664 said: “Nah.” --- *(Verse 1)* 63 out of Southam town, 664 never came around, Didn’t leave Leam from what I know— Probably still sat in the depot. Stockton roads and Dunchurch glide, Woodlands rolling by outside, Not the route I planned today— But the loop still found a way. --- *(Verse 2)* 85B through Rugby line, Brownsover roads and Magna signs, Half an hour late to Coventry town— But I wasn’t slowing down. Harborough Magna countryside, Brinklow rolling slowly by, Coombe Abbey through the rain— Midlands chaos once again. --- *(Bridge)* And thankfully… NO WASP this time. Last time that thing was fighting its own reflection like it had emotional problems. --- *(Chorus)* Failed loop, but not really, Still crossed half the Midlands city-to-city, One missed bus destroyed the plan— Yet somehow the loop still ran. 664 disappeared, Original route just wasn’t there, But Coventry still got involved— That’s how these bus loops evolve. --- *(Verse 3)* X18 through Coventry roads, Cheylesmore under cloudy glow, Could’ve waited for the 86— But patience doesn’t really exist. A46 humming loud, North Leam pulling through the crowd, Another accidental ride— Leamington appearing worldwide. --- *(Verse 4)* 63 again to Rugby side, Southam loop because roads were tied, A425 closure hit the route— So the bus just circled through. Bascote Heath then Southam twice, Transport planning truly cursed for life. Miss the 664 at 7:34? Your entire day becomes folklore. --- *(Verse 5)* Could’ve had lunch if timings worked, But the Bistro shut before I got there first. 63 delays destroyed the chance— Another casualty of Midlands plans. No maths lesson, no food break, Just more buses for chaos sake. --- *(Verse 6)* 4 to Bilton rolling through, More buses because what else to do? Stayed onboard to Brownsover side, Then Rugby College finally arrived. You’d think with all these routes today— I wasn’t even in college anyway --- *(Bridge 2 – The Original Plan)* The REAL loop was supposed to be: 664 to Leamington… X17 or X18 to Coventry… 148, 56 or 57 to Nuneaton… 84A into Rugby… then the 4 to college. A proper cross-county masterpiece. Destroyed by ONE missing 664. --- *(Verse 7)* Only had one lesson there, Theory folder work somewhere, Whole day built on transport stress— For one class and then nothing else. Still survived with no Monster too— Honestly the hardest thing to do --- *(Verse 8)* 4 back down through Rugby town, Long wait while the daylight drowned, College timetable never aligns— With the 63 departure times. Finally rolling Southam way, Woodlands fading into grey, Loop collapsed but still survived— Another Midlands day complete. --- *(Final Chorus)* Failed loop, but not really, Still became a transport trilogy, From Coventry roads to Rugby town— Every failed plan still loops around. One missing bus changed everything, Yet somehow the connections cling, No Monster, no lunch, no original route— Still made the loop and made it through. --- *(Outro – Spoken)* The lesson of today: Never build your entire loop… around the 664 behaving itself.
