[Verse 1] That bluebird came by With a berry-stained beak Ate my blueberry jam Then it flew off sleek Now my porch looks shocked And my fence looks proud My grass turned blue Like it got dragged through clouds [Pre-Chorus] I stepped outside Said, what’s this mess? Got a blue turf grin And a sticky red dress [Chorus] Bluebird, bluebird What did you do? Bluebird, bluebird Now my lawn’s in blue You took my jam Left me a clue Bluebird, bluebird What did you do? (what did you do?) [Verse 2] Neighbors came over With their coffee cups Pointed at the yard Said, “That’s color luck” I tried to scrub it out With the garden hose But the blue just spread Down between the rows [Pre-Chorus] I shook my head Couldn’t help but laugh Jam in the air And a bluegrass patch [Chorus] Bluebird, bluebird What did you do? Bluebird, bluebird Now my lawn’s in blue You took my jam Left me a clue Bluebird, bluebird What did you do? (what did you do?) [Bridge] Maybe it’s a sign Maybe it’s a joke Maybe that bird Just liked my toast I’ll leave a spoon By the window sill If it comes back now It can eat its fill [Chorus] Bluebird, bluebird What did you do? Bluebird, bluebird Now my lawn’s in blue You took my jam Left me a clue Bluebird, bluebird What did you do? (what did you do?)
