[Verse 1] You ask me how I’m doing I say, “Did you see that sky?” The whole block smelled like thunder Before the sun said bye My phone keeps buzzing red alerts But I’m stuck on the porch Counting drops on the railing Like it’s some kind of sport [Pre-Chorus] They can keep their breaking news And all that weight on the wire If the clouds are rolling in That’s where my mind goes first [Chorus] Looks like rain Looks like rain Forget the rest, I’m watching rain Looks like rain Looks like rain Tell me if it stays or leaves again [Verse 2] You bring up bills and deadlines I point at the west That line of gray is marching Like it knows what’s next Everybody wants a fix For a world gone wild But I’m checking wind direction Like a kid in the aisle [Pre-Chorus] They can keep their breaking news And all that weight on the wire If the clouds are rolling in That’s where my mind goes first [Chorus] Looks like rain Looks like rain Forget the rest, I’m watching rain Looks like rain Looks like rain Tell me if it stays or leaves again [Bridge] Maybe that’s how we survive A little sky to blame While the whole wide world is shaking We still ask, “Will it rain?” [Final Chorus] Looks like rain Looks like rain Forget the rest, I’m watching rain Looks like rain Looks like rain Tell me if it stays or leaves again Looks like rain Looks like rain And I’ll be here, watching rain
