Contrast / Koltrast [NDC]

STUDIO

[Instrumental] -------------- Update: I've remastered this track into a set of two. Removed the noise, so I suggest that instead. https://suno.com/s/8g0drKq5IFrBBMjH https://suno.com/s/Fp7jRdawQNGmXaV9 Contrast / Koltrast [NDC] Copyright © 2026 JAG for NDC Weekly Challenge Genre: Fusion (“Nature Ambient” or “Nature vs Ambient”) Theme: Contrasts Knowing that “trast” is a kind of bird in Swedish, “Con-trast” could mean* “With the Thrush”. Since the blackbird is a local favorite, and perhaps because the challenge mentioned “Blake”, the blackbird / koltrast came to mind. Said and done, one free-to-use** birdsong downloaded, Suno was ready to make music “with the blackbird”. The idea was to contrast Real and Artificial. They say AI is just a copycat of the human music catalog. So what do I get if I feed some recorded bird song with a simple prompt [1]? Not bad, but as uncontrollable as nature itself. The magic wand suggested to elaborate, so I did [2]. This time whistling came through, but still short. So the final bit was made in Studio, based on the remaining bars and a brave prompt [3] suggesting “harsh industrial jazz”. This was quietly ignored, but the whistling got more elaborate and one of the versions was just a clone of the birds. Can you hear where the synthetic birds take over? In all, AI did quite a fine job copying nature as well as human music, even though it doesn’t sound exactly real. Apart from that bird clone section, I’m not sure if it did ever pay attention to the audio or text prompt, really, but I think I got a nice ambient track. The music contrasts both the bird song and itself over time. Footnotes: *Latin roots contra- ("against") and stare ("stand") says otherwise. But “stare” is also a bird in Swedish, smaller than the blackbird, so I’d say if we put these against each other, then Koltrast it is. ** Pixabay / danfloyd: A beautiful morning concert by birds - 16.04.2017 - Haar - Germany https://pixabay.com/sv/sound-effects/natur-a-beautiful-morning-concert-by-birds-16042017-haar-germany-461378/ Style 1: [0:08 - 2:55] acoustic guitar, vocal percussion, whistling Style 2: [3:03 - 5:14 + 5:14 - 6:44] Follow the given audio to full length and match tempo and style. The track is of a blackbird singing in a forest. Complement this with an intimate acoustic track led by warm fingerpicked guitar, complemented by crisp vocal percussion driving the rhythm. Bright, playful whistling weaves catchy melodic hooks between verses and choruses, creating a light, organic texture with plenty of space for each element to shine. Let the music imitate the bird, and then extend that into melodic content. Play with the contrast of Organic Nature vs Artificial Music.
