[Verse 1] In the land of Uz, a righteous man stood, Blameless and faithful, he walked with God good. Blessed with a family, riches, and peace, Offering prayers that would never cease. But unseen in heaven, a question arose, “Would he still worship if everything goes?” The hedge was lifted, the test was begun, And Job’s long night had only begun. [Pre-Chorus] Fire fell down, the wind took the sons, All that he loved was suddenly gone. Ashes and silence, sorrow and pain, Still from his lips came a whisper of faith: [Chorus] The Lord gives, the Lord takes away, Blessed be Your name through night and through day. Though I don’t understand all the things that You do, Still I will trust, Lord, I’ll cling to You. In the storm and the suffering, I will remain— Worshiping God through the sorrow and pain. [Verse 2] His body was broken, his strength turned to dust, Friends came to comfort, then questioned his trust. “Surely you’ve sinned,” they all seemed to say, But Job held fast through the endless debate. He cried out to heaven, “Why am I here?” Wrestling with silence, drowning in tears. Yet in the dark where no answers were found, Faith still reached upward from barren ground. [Pre-Chorus] Then out of the whirlwind, the voice of the Lord, Speaking of wisdom too vast to ignore. “Where were you when creation began?” Job laid his hand over mouth and then— [Chorus] The Lord gives, the Lord takes away, Blessed be Your name through night and through day. Though I don’t understand all the things that You do, Still I will trust, Lord, I’ll cling to You. In the storm and the suffering, I will remain— Worshiping God through the sorrow and pain. [Bridge] Not all answers are given in sight, Not all darkness is chased by the light. But faith is a flame that refuses to die, Even when reasons are hidden from eyes. [Final Chorus] The Lord restores what was taken away, Grace in the morning, new life in the day. From ashes to blessing, from mourning to praise, Faithful is God through all of our days. Though I don’t understand all the things that You do, Still I will trust… I will worship You. [Outro] In the story of suffering, mercy remains— And Job still worships through fire and rain.
