My Neighbours a Werewolf

V4.5

"I Think My Neighbour’s a Werewolf" (Dark indie-rock / theatrical rap-pop style – like a cross between Dance with the Undead, Arctic Monkeys, and a horror-comedy musical) [Verse 1 – Suspicion Grows] Moved in last week, flat 3B’s the spot, Quiet little cul-de-sac, not a scary plot. But next door's got curtains drawn all day, And I swear I heard howlin’ yesterday. Bin day missed, no sign of a face, Only footprints in mud all over the place. And the postman said with a nervous laugh, “Watch out, mate… he bites if you ask.” [Chorus – Energetic & Creepy] I think my neighbour’s a werewolf — Long nails, long stares, that gruff ol’ cough. Full moon glows and the dogs go nuts, He’s growlin’ at birds and diggin’ up ruts. He don’t like garlic, don’t eat bread, Always looks peaky — like freshly dead. I lock my door, I clutch my quilt — Cos I think my neighbour’s a werewolf. [Verse 2 – Things Escalate] He walks like his bones don’t quite align, Shadow stretchin’ past the council line. Midnight knocks and a scraping sound, And a pile of fur on the wheelie bin found. His fridge roars louder than a train, He muttered “meat” when I asked his name. Plus I caught him sniffin’ the air real weird, And he flinched when my mirror appeared… [Chorus – Bigger & Wilder] I think my neighbour’s a werewolf — Moonlight brings out the beast in his jaw. Hair on his back, claws on the floor, I heard a howl through the letterbox door! He don’t like silver, he don’t like guests, And his Amazon parcels all say “fresh flesh.” So I sleep with salt and a baseball bat, Cos my neighbour’s a werewolf — and that’s a fact. [Bridge – Whispery then Builds] Last night… I peeked through the blinds at two-oh-five. His eyes were glowing, and he weren't quite… alive. He sniffed the wind… He licked his lips… And growled, “You’re next.” [Final Chorus – Fast & Fierce] My neighbour’s a werewolf — I’ve seen the proof! He climbs on the roof when he needs the truth. Growls at the postie, barks at planes, Scratches the pavement and snarls at trains. His flat smells like a butcher’s shed, And his curtains are stitched with human thread. I’m movin’ out, I’ve had enough, Cos my neighbour’s a werewolf — and he’s lookin’ rough. [Outro – Spoken, Creepy/Funny Whisper] If you hear a howl and your lights go red... Just pretend you're asleep — or you might wake up dead. …And tell the council I want a refund. Preferably… before the next full moon.
