Hunting Song of the Seeonee Pack - Celebrating Poetry Day Illustrations on Night Cafe https://creator.nightcafe.studio/collection/Qsf80OIONLtFbfgSPMOz Watch on YouTube https://youtu.be/atI9O1BQJ04 Watch on TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@artelisabeth/video/7420808160182619422 As the dawn was breaking the Sambhur belled— Once, twice and again! And a doe leaped up, and a doe leaped up From the pond in the wood where the wild deer sup. This I, scouting alone, beheld, Once, twice and again! Once, twice, and again, the echoes rise, A story unfolds beneath the skies. Footsteps silent, yet hearts race fast, In the hunt where shadows cast. Once, twice, and again, the wild we heed, Nature speaks, and we follow its lead. As the dawn was breaking the Sambhur belled— Once, twice and again! And a wolf stole back, and a wolf stole back To carry the word to the waiting pack, And we sought and we found and we bayed on his track Once, twice and again! Once, twice, and again, the echoes rise, A story unfolds beneath the skies. Footsteps silent, yet hearts race fast, In the hunt where shadows cast. Once, twice, and again, the wild we heed, Nature speaks, and we follow its lead. As the dawn was breaking the Wolf Pack yelled Once, twice and again! Feet in the jungle that leave no mark! Eyes that can see in the dark—the dark! Tongue—give tongue to it! Hark! O Hark! Once, twice and again! Once, twice, and again, the echoes rise, A story unfolds beneath the skies. Footsteps silent, yet hearts race fast, In the hunt where shadows cast. Once, twice, and again, the wild we heed, Nature speaks, and we follow its lead. As the night falls again, the woods will ring, The hunt is eternal, and the wild will sing. Once, twice, and again, we’ll be there too, Answering the call, as wild hearts do.
