Verse 1 In a cold dark room where the curtains stay drawn Tiny hands reach out but the hope is gone A lullaby echoes through broken walls But no one comes when the little one calls The world keeps turning, the streets still glow But behind closed doors… the shadows grow Pre-Chorus Whispers in the night Truth buried out of sight Chorus Silent cries in the dark of night Innocent souls with no one to fight Heaven hears every tear they hide While the world walks past and turns aside An open secret nobody sees Lost little hearts down on their knees Praying someone will hear their plea From the chains of evil… set them free Verse 2 Teddy bears lying on the dusty floor Broken dreams behind a locked door Little voices fading in fear While the guilty smile like no one’s near Golden halls and the powerful few Pretend they don’t know what’s coming true Pre-Chorus Footsteps passing by Ignoring every cry Chorus Silent cries in the dark of night Innocent souls with no one to fight Heaven hears every tear they hide While the world walks past and turns aside An open secret nobody sees Lost little hearts down on their knees Praying someone will hear their plea From the chains of evil… set them free Bridge Somewhere a mother feels the pain A missing child in the pouring rain Somewhere an angel calls their name Wondering why the world’s the same If love is stronger than the lies Why do we turn from their silent cries Final Chorus Silent cries in the dark of night God above sees every fight One day the truth will rise like dawn And the darkness won’t go on Till that day the heavens know Every tear that falls below And every soul will finally be Held in light… and set free Outro So listen close when the night wind sighs You might hear those silent cries…
