Shhh… Close your eyes, don’t make a sound. Let the dark come wrapping ‘round. Sleep, sleep, Drift away— The nightmares can’t reach you today. Another day, another fight, The world unkind, the weight too tight. The only peace you’ve ever known Is when your mind is left alone. Your eyes grow heavy, shadows creep, But in the dark, there’s only sleep. Sleep away the nightmares, Let the world just fade in time. Count the sheep, let dreaming take you Somewhere safe beyond the night. Don’t let the dark pull you under, This is your only time to rest. Morning comes, too bright, too loud, You groan, you break beneath the sound. Another day, another game, But all the pieces feel the same. You long for night, a quiet place, Where sleep will take you far away. Sleep away the nightmares, Let the world just fade in time. Count the sheep, let dreaming take you Somewhere safe beyond the night. Don’t let the dark pull you under, This is your only time to rest. Something’s different, air is cold, The weight too light, the night too old. But you don’t care, you don’t ask why, You’re just too tired to open your eyes. One last breath, a peaceful sigh, As sleep enfolds you, still and quiet. Shhh… Go to sleep. Drift away where no one weeps. Sleep, sleep, Soft and deep— The nightmares can’t wake you. Not this time.
