Living within divine disquiet and dissatisfaction Touched by its grace And facing the disgrace of men That little lady opened Those shrewd melodious lips “Don't get me started” About greedy politicians Past and present Who wouldn't know the truth If it bit them “ Dolly said it ! And you can tell That she meant it! So let’s have no false Fancy Sycophantic Tributes To trade on her kudos Cos you know She was talking about you! A woman who had true roots And used her powerful voice In the right way Putting issues front and centre Without the poisonous spin From the men Who want to who want want To win win win Power Power to build Their golden towers Dolly said it ! And you can tell That she meant it! A true force of nature She was truly natural Giving so much From what had been given to her Disarmingly honest In a way she did not have to be A lesson for the man Who does not want Others to see Who they really are All of them wanting to be a star Greedy politicians Past and present Who wouldn't know the truth if it bit them!! Dolly said it ! And you can tell That she meant it! But having nothing of grace they need Money is all they can smell and see She proved money ain't funny it's energy that must be set free Dolly said it ! And you can tell That she meant it! Opening up imagination For the sake of the children And making their change her legacy Each mornings story she told Not about seeking glory But being human In the best way you can Could have touched every man But not greedy politiicians Kindness Generosity Openness And loved Following her god guide Never trying to fool it Never sacrificed it To a chance You can't beleive in So many more will come Before your weakness gets too strong A giver to make you shiver When you hear Enough is plenty You Greedy politicians Past and present Who wouldn't know the truth if it bit you Dolly said it ! And you can tell That she meant it!
