(verse 1) We used to walk in the moonlight Holding hands, stars so bright Ambled on down to the river’s side Sit on a bench and watch That lazy river glide You’d look up at the moon And no matter what the phase You’d put your finger and thumb together Right in front of your face And you’d say, “Watch me pinch the moon!” And we’d laugh when the pinch was in place (Chorus) Let’s pinch the moon together! Let’s wish on all the stars! We can stop and share a kiss As the river flows down far Let’s hum a little tune And dance into the night Together, we can pinch the moon And share our evening delight! (verse 2) Somewhere above the river Partially hidden by some trees We can see little lights twinkle When the trees are moved by breeze And drifting out across the river From those twinkle-light’s place We can hear the sound of cool, cool jazz That puts a smile on my face (Chorus) Let’s pinch the moon together! Let’s wish on all the stars! We can stop and share a kiss As the river flows down far Let’s hum a little tune And dance into the night Together, we can pinch the moon And share our evening delight! [Instrumental break] (bridge) If we catch some luck We will clearly hear that jazz I’ll give my confidence a pluck And show you my pizzazz! Together, we can dance Under the stars, fast or slow And boldly I will take a chance And kiss you as we go! (verse 3) I hold onto your arm As we follow the river flow My head finds your shoulder A perfect place for it to go The moon is following us Foot by foot, inch by inch And I think we should stop for a moment And give the moon another pinch! (Chorus) Let’s pinch the moon together! Let’s wish on all the stars! We can stop and share a kiss As the river flows down far Let’s hum a little tune And dance into the night Together, we can pinch the moon And share our evening delight! Let’s pinch the moon together And celebrate the night! [Instrumental to out]
