[Instrumental intro] [Verse 1] Sing of the student’s happiest day, Sing of the springtime bright and new. Still beats the heart with a bold hurray, Still burns the dream we once pursued. [Pre-Chorus] The road lies open wide, The stars are shining clear. Tonight we’re side by side, And all our friends are here. [Chorus] In the grove, in the grove, Where the lovely laurels grow, Raise your voice and sing together, Let the whole wide world know! Hand in hand we stand united, More than words can ever show. In the grove, in the grove, Where the lovely laurels grow. [Verse 2] Years may carry us far away, Far beyond these fields we know. Yet we’ll remember this very day, And the songs beneath the laurel boughs. [Bridge] Here’s to all the nights behind us, Here’s to all the years ahead. May the fire always find us, Long after these words are said. [Final Chorus] In the grove, in the grove, Where the lovely laurels grow, Raise your voice and sing together, Let the whole wide world know! Though tomorrow waits before us, Still our hearts will wander home. To the grove, to the grove, Where the lovely laurels grow.
