Obedient Children

[Verse 1] I’ve been holding on to habits That don’t fit this heart anymore You called my name in the shadows Opened up a different door I thought you wanted my performance You just wanted all of me Now I’m learning how to listen Learning how to be [Chorus] Make me an obedient child Loved Not driven by fear Every step Every breath Let it all draw me near To the One who gave His life To the One who set me free Love is leading Love is leading Every act of obedience in me [Verse 2] You’re uncovering the motives Hidden underneath my plans Teaching me to drop my defenses And place my future in Your hands When You whisper “Come and follow” I don’t have to understand I just trust the One who holds me And take the next command [Chorus] Make me an obedient child Loved Not driven by fear Every step Every breath Let it all draw me near To the One who gave His life To the One who set me free Love is leading Love is leading Every act of obedience in me [Bridge] I let go of my old ways (oh-oh) They don’t fit who I am now Your Spirit gently guides me Shows me when and how From glory into glory You are changing me inside Every faithful Quiet “yes Lord” Is another chain untied [Chorus] Make me an obedient child Loved Not driven by fear Every step Every breath Let it all draw me near To the One who gave His life To the One who set me free Love is leading Love is leading Every act of obedience in me Love is leading Love is leading One obedient step with Thee
