Fret not when evil prospers near, Nor envy those who wrong appear. For like the grass they fade, they fall, While steadfast love will conquer all. Trust in the Lord and do the good, Dwell in the land as faithful should. Delight your heart in Him above, And He will give your soul its love. Commit your way to God each day, Be still—He works while you obey. The wicked plot, their swords they draw, But God will break them like dry straw. A little while—the proud will fade, Their place lie still in ruin’s shade. But meek ones hold the earth at last, Their peace unshaken, firm and vast. The Lord upholds the righteous hand, Their steps are sure, their heirs will stand. Though famine comes, they shall be fed, For God Himself is living bread. The wicked borrow, never pay, But righteous give and store away. The Lord’s delight directs their way, Their path shines brighter than the day. Turn from evil, plant the light, And flourish in God’s law so right. The just inherit endless peace, Their joy in Him will never cease. Wait for the Lord, keep to His road, He lifts the humble, shares their load. The future of the blest is sure— A kingdom firm, forever pure.
