(Verse 1) October wind cuts cold through the trees Skeletons grin from the porch in the breeze Basket in hand, I walk slow through the leaves Hunting the candy the night’s gonna leave Orange and black, shiny and sweet Fallen from pumpkins that glow in the street I’m filling it up till the handle’s too tight Bringing the goodies back into the light (Chorus) We’re making kitten ears and hair bows The cutest little haunt on this Halloween road Wire’s on the table, the glue gun’s on fire Every bow lands exactly where I desire Hang it on the door for the kids in the dark A little piece of Halloween, glowing like a spark (Verse 2) Back at the kitchen, black paper laid out Big bows and little ones scattered about Glue gun is humming, the heat’s coming on Turning this doorway into something gone wrong Pressing the ears in a perfect tight ring Spiderweb ribbon tied tight on the string Thumbs hold it steady till everything locks Watching the whole thing come together in shocks (Chorus) We’re making kitten ears and hair bows The cutest little haunt on this Halloween road Wire’s on the table, the glue gun’s on fire Every bow lands exactly where I desire Hang it on the door for the kids in the dark A little piece of Halloween, glowing like a spark (Bridge) Nothing fancy, just scissors and string A circle of costumes pulled out of the evening Warm little welcome for whoever shows up Sometimes the simplest thing’s more than enough (Outro) Glue’s almost dry now, the ribbon is tied Candy on the table, October outside Just kitten ears, hair bows, and a little bit of love That’s all it takes to make the night come alive Hung on the gate like a soft little spell The sweetest kind of spooky you could ever tell
